Charles Egan, a member of Clan Egan who now lives in Ireland, has written two novels about the Irish Famine of the mid 1800s based on papers received from his father who was raised on a small farm in County Mayo in the West of Ireland. His first book, the “Killing Snows” was published in 2012. A sequel to The Killing Snows was published in October 2015, is entitled “The Exile Breed” and has a much stronger emphasis on the Irish Diaspora in England and North America.
